Equipment
  • Goals or gates
  • Cones or markers
  • Soccer balls
Setup
  1. Area: 30x20 yard field
  2. Goals: One gate centred on each end line
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts in their own half
  4. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts in their own half
  5. Equipment: Cones or markers set up to form gates at each end of the field
Instructions
  1. Players start in their designated halves.
  2. Use no more than two touches before passing; exceeding two touches results in a free kick for the opponent.
  3. Encourage continuous movement and avoid shielding excessively.
  4. Focus on using effective communication and support for teammates.
  5. Rotate roles periodically to ensure balanced participation and experience.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage clear communication on the field.
  • Maintain good support angles and distances.
  • Make quick decisions both on and off the ball.
  • Control the ball with a good first touch.
  • Keep your head up to see options.
  • Move effectively to create scoring opportunities.
  • React swiftly to support teammates after passing.
  • Use positive body language to influence the game.
  • Ensure passes move the ball forward effectively.
  • Keep the ball in motion, avoid forcing passes.
  • Correctly control the ball for advantageous play.
  • Choose the most effective pass by assessing options.
  • Develop teamwork and pass selection skills.
  • Support play to offer clear passing pathways.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase difficulty.
2. Limit to one touch per player before passing.
3. Introduce a neutral player who can play for both teams for overlap advantage.
Make it easier:
1. Allow up to three touches per player before passing.
2. Increase the size of the playing field for more space to maneuver.
3. Add extra players to each team for more passing options.
