Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones for boundary marking
  • Stopwatch or timer for assessing duration
Setup
  1. Area: 22x22 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: 6 black players total, with 2 paired players starting joined by the hand in the centre of the area and the remaining 4 free players spaced evenly across the area
  3. Equipment: 4 cones marking the corners of the 22x22 yard area
Instructions
  1. Paired players keep hands linked and aim to tag free players with their free hands.
  2. When a free player is tagged, they join the pair to form a chain of three.
  3. Continue tagging; once a chain reaches four players, they split into two chains of two.
  4. The game concludes once all players are in chains.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage clear and constant communication.
  • Increase intensity progressively.
  • Focus on players' movement, body language, and alertness.
  • Warm-ups should be engaging and contextual to the session.
  • Ensure players stay hydrated and take breaks.
  • Emphasize the importance of warming up properly to prepare both mind and body.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the space to 15x15 meters, increasing difficulty by limiting movement.
2. Allow chains of three to form only after a second tag.
Make it easier:
1. Expand the area to 25x25 meters to provide more space for free players.
2. Allow players to break chain momentarily to navigate obstacles or narrow spaces.
