  2. Group: 1 player starts standing beside their ball, spaced evenly within the area

Instructions
  1. Stand beside the ball with the leading foot closest to it.
  2. Step over the ball with the leading foot.
  3. Use the back foot's sole to roll the ball in the direction of the step.
  4. Cushion the ball with the inside of the leading foot.
  5. Repeat the maneuver in the opposite direction by changing the leading leg.
  6. Progress initially with the ball stationary, then increase speed over time.
  7. Incorporate additional ball manipulation moves as proficiency increases.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain close control of the ball.
  • Keep head up; only glance down when necessary.
  • Master the technique and speed of the maneuver.
  • Stay light on feet with slightly bent knees.
  • Develop rhythm and flow in movements.
  • Gradually increase speed and fluency of the move.
  • Focus on balance, coordination, and ball feel.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Perform the drill with added ball manipulation moves.
2. Increase the speed requirement at which players must execute the feints.
Make it easier:
1. Slow down the maneuver for better control.
2. Perform the move with a stationary ball before adding movement.
3. Allow players to focus on one direction before alternating.
