Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • - Cones (marking the 20x25 yard area and end lines)
  • - Balls (for dribbling progression)
Setup
  1. Area: 20x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Group: players spaced evenly along one end line, each with a ball
  3. Neutral: 1 black neutral player positioned in the center of the area as the tagger
  4. Equipment: cones marking the corners and end lines of the 20x25 yard area, one ball per outfield player for the dribbling progression
Instructions
  1. Players attempt to run across the area without being tagged by the center player.
  2. Upon reaching the opposite end, players turn and continue for a set time, around one minute.
  3. Introduce a ball each for players to dribble during progression.
  4. Players lose a point if tagged.
  5. Change the center player regularly.
  6. The winner has the least points at the end of the set time.
Coaching Points
  • Encourage speed and quality in ball control.
  • Monitor aerobic overload for conditioning adaptation.
  • Balance intensity and recovery to avoid burnout.
  • Adjust workload based on players' age and fitness.
  • Maintain flexibility in planning to ensure optimal recovery.
  • Regularly change the center player to keep engagement high.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the playing area to increase difficulty.
2. Add an additional player in the center to reduce space.
3. Extend the duration of each round to increase endurance.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the size of the playing area to provide more space for running.
2. Allow players to run without the ball for reduced complexity.
3. Decrease the number of rounds to avoid fatigue.
