Setup
  1. Area: 18-yard box area marked with cones (approx. 44x18 yards)
  2. Goals: One large goal centred on the goal line at the near end of the marked area

  4. Group GK: 1 yellow goalkeeper positioned on the goal line
  5. Equipment: Cones marking the boundary of the 18-yard box area
Instructions
  1. Player A performs a 'one-two' with Player B.
  2. As Player A receives the ball back, Player B applies passive pressure and calls out 'right' or 'left'.
  3. Player A takes a touch in the indicated direction and moves into open space.
  4. Player A finishes the move with a shot on goal.
  5. Rotate roles after each attempt.
Coaching Points
  • Prioritize shot accuracy over power.
  • Stay positive and maintain communication.
  • Keep your head up and the ball moving.
  • Ensure quality in the finish and shooting technique.
  • Vary the distance between players based on age and ability.
  • Encourage shooting with both feet.
  • Use the first touch to set up effectively for the shot.
  • Continuously hit the target with each attempt.
  • Adjust running speed for optimal execution.
  • Demonstrate good technique for visual learners.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase pressure from the defending player.
2. Reduce the time between 'one-two' and shot.
3. Add a defender to mark the initial pass.
4. Narrow the shooting angle.
Make it easier:
1. Remove the pressure calls from Player B.
2. Allow extra touches before the shot.
3. Widen the shooting angle.
