Equipment
  • 6 Goals
  • Supply of balls
  • Cones
  • Bibs
  • Large cones
Setup
  1. Area: 33x44 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: 6 small goals positioned evenly around the perimeter of the area
  3. Team Red: 6 red outfield players spaced evenly around the area
  4. Team Blue: 6 blue outfield players spaced evenly around the area
  5. Equipment: Cones marking the four corners of the 33x44 yard area, additional large cones set up in the wide areas on each side to form dribbling gates, bibs to distinguish the two teams.
Instructions
  1. Game starts with a supply of balls from the coach.
  2. Teams aim to score by dribbling through the coned goals in the wide areas.
  3. Players must shoot immediately after dribbling through the cones.
  4. Defenders can receive the ball from the keepers inside the shooting zone and play out without being challenged.
  5. Rotate roles frequently to ensure everyone gets a turn in different positions.
  6. Progression: Introduce extra balls to increase intensity and decision-making.
Coaching Points
  • Look to create space for the player with the ball.
  • Protect the ball on your first touch and use the outside foot.
  • Keep the ball tight to your feet and employ fakes and turns.
  • Awareness of surroundings and change of direction.
  • Smart first touches and maintaining a high tempo.
  • Encourage players to have courage and take opponents on.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the size of the dribbling gates by bringing the cones closer together.
2. Increase the number of goals, forcing players to make quicker decisions.
3. Restrict the number of touches allowed before shooting.
Make it easier:
1. Widen the dribbling gates to make it easier to pass through.
2. Allow players to shoot from further away, giving them more time.
3. Decrease the number of opponents to reduce defensive pressure.
