Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones
  • Balls
  • Markers for playing area
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with markers
  2. Group: 2 players start lined up at the end of the area opposite the cones, sharing 1 ball between the pair
  3. Equipment: several cones with a ball balanced on top of each, positioned in a line at one end of the area, plus markers outlining the 20x20 playing area
Instructions
  1. First player in each pair passes the ball trying to knock a ball off a cone.
  2. Whether successful or not, the player retrieves their ball.
  3. Players then switch roles with their partner and continue.
  4. Count the number of successful hits for competitive element, or continue play if preferred.
Coaching Points
  • Emphasize accurate passing technique.
  • Encourage creative attempts at hitting the targets.
  • Reinforce teamwork and positive communication.
  • Focus on enjoyable and engaging participation.
  • Let players learn through the game's challenges.

Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase the distance to the cones.
2. Reduce the size of the playing area to add pressure.
3. Require using non-dominant foot for passes.
Make it easier:
1. Decrease the distance to the cones.
2. Use larger balls to encourage successful passes.
3. Allow players to use a stationary ball rather than dribbling into position.
