Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • One ball
  • Eight cones for marking the area
Setup
  1. Area: 25x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Team Red: 4 red outfield players numbered 1-4, spaced evenly around the perimeter of the area
  3. Team Blue: 4 blue outfield players numbered 1-4, spaced evenly around the perimeter of the area, alternating with red players
  4. Coach: 1 grey coach positioned at the center of the area holding a ball
  5. Equipment: 8 cones marking the corners and edges of the 25x25 yard area
Instructions
  1. Coach calls a number and the respective two players, one from each team, enter the area.
  2. Coach plays the ball into the center.
  3. Players compete to maintain possession for 30 seconds.
  4. Player with possession at the end wins the round.
  5. Players return to their positions, and the coach repeats for all players.
Coaching Points
  • Quickly close down the ball.
  • Maintain clear communication with team.
  • Stay alert and light on feet.
  • Force play to be predictable.
  • First defender should pressure the ball immediately.
  • Maintain compactness as a team.
  • Attempt to win the ball when possible.
  • Jockeying with balanced, staggered stance for agility.
  • Anticipate the attacker's moves.
  • Understand when to tackle or hold position.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the area size to increase pressure on defenders.
2. Increase the duration to 45 seconds for added stamina challenge.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the area size to allow more space for defenders.
2. Reduce the duration to 20 seconds for less endurance demand.
