Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones for boundary marking.
  • 2-yard gates.
  • Colored bibs for team differentiation.
  • Multiple soccer balls for quick play.
Setup
  1. Area: 30x25 yard area marked with cones
  2. Goals: Multiple 2-yard gates positioned throughout the area
  3. Team Red: 1 red outfield player starts spaced evenly across the area
  4. Team Blue: 1 blue outfield player starts spaced evenly across the area
  5. Equipment: Cones marking the boundary of the 30x25 yard area, multiple sets of 2 cones forming 2-yard gates spread throughout the area, colored bibs for team differentiation, several soccer balls placed around the field for quick restarts.
Instructions
  1. Teams score by passing or dribbling through a gate.
  2. After scoring, maintain possession and aim for another gate.
  3. Use pass-ins instead of throw-ins when the ball goes out.
  4. Encourage continuous play without stoppages after goals.
Coaching Points
  • Develop angles of support and quick decision-making.
  • Maintain close ball control and effective communication.
  • Use receiving techniques with the furthest foot.
  • Focus on awareness of passing options and space creation.
  • Encourage intelligent runs and quick combinations.
  • Emphasize a positive attitude and strategic space utilization.
  • Let the gameplay naturally facilitate learning.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the number of gates to increase competition.
2. Implement a time limit for scoring each goal.
3. Add a minimum pass requirement before scoring.
Make it easier:
1. Increase the number of gates for more scoring opportunities.
2. Allow scoring from either side of the gate.
3. Remove the pass-in rule and allow throw-ins.
