- Small goals (A and B)
- Cones

Setup
- Area: 20x15 yard area marked with cones
- Goals: One small goal (A) on one side of the area and one small goal (B) on the opposite side
- Team Red: 1 red outfield defender starts on the defenders' line at the edge of the area, facing the attacker
- Team Blue: 1 blue outfield attacker starts on the attackers' line at the opposite edge of the area, facing the defender
- Equipment: Cones marking two queue lines (one for attackers, one for defenders) at opposite edges of the area, small goals A and B positioned on either side of the area, 1 football used per repetition
Instructions
- Attacker dribbles towards the defender, attempting to score by dribbling through either goal.
- Defender tries to stop the attacker from scoring.
- Rotate defenders after a set time or after each attempt.
- Repeat with a new attacker.
Coaching Points
- Use disguise to deceive the defender.
- Ensure a good first touch.
- Keep your head up to assess options.
- Maintain ball movement into space and away from the defender's reach.
- Show a positive and determined attitude.
- Focus on technical dribbling skills.
- Accelerate quickly after beating the defender.
- Recognize the right distance to execute the move effectively.
- Encourage decision-making in choosing dribbling techniques.
- Enhance confidence and ability to beat an opponent with deception.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Reduce the space between goals A and B.
2. Add a time limit for scoring.
3. Have two defenders instead of one.
Make it easier:
1. Allow attackers to start closer to the goals.
2. Increase the space between goals A and B.
3. Use a passive defender focusing on positioning rather than tackling.
