Equipment, Setup & Instructions
Equipment
  • Cones
  • Balls
Setup
  1. Area: 20x20 yard area marked with cones, adjust size as needed
  2. Team Blue: 2 blue outfield players (Robbers), each with a ball, spaced out dribbling inside the main area
  3. Team Red: 2 red outfield players (Cops), without a ball, starting inside the 3x3 yard Police Station zone
  4. Equipment: Cones marking the 20x20 yard boundary, plus cones marking a 3x3 yard Police Station zone and a separate 3x3 yard Prison zone inside the main area, one ball per Robber
Instructions
  1. One 'Cop' exits the 'Police Station' to tag 'Robbers' by kicking their ball out.
  2. 'Robbers' run to 'Prison' if tagged twice; they have two lives each.
  3. Tagged 'Robbers' remain in 'Prison'.
  4. The current 'Cop' sends out another 'Cop' after tagging two 'Robbers'.
  5. Continue until all 'Robbers' are in 'Prison', then switch roles.
  6. The team catching all 'Robbers' fastest wins.
Coaching Points
  • Maintain close ball control.
  • Use disguise and quick turns.
  • Keep head up for awareness.
  • Stay positive and be decisive.
  • Focus on foot speed and acceleration.
  • Execute the right dribbling technique for the situation.
  • Encourage use of both feet.
  • React and change direction swiftly when necessary.
  • Allow players to make decisions and provide guidance.
  • Refine individual technical skills through the activity.
Variations
Make it harder:
1. Increase area size for more space.
2. Allow 'Cops' to tag more 'Robbers' before returning.
3. Decrease 'Robbers' lives to one.
Make it easier:
1. Decrease area size for less space.
2. Allow 'Robbers' three lives.
3. Start with fewer 'Cops'.
